Earth Alien

The Earth Alien novel

This novel, and the other associated works, is not the type of classic science fiction story with ray guns, force fields, hideous monsters, and evil space creatures that must be battled to the death. This is a different twist on science fiction, one for which I think is another reason behind the attraction for this genre of writing. We humans by nature want to extend beyond ourselves, but we at the same time do a very poor job of imagining how to accomplish that. It is unfortunate and destructive that the human inclination at all levels is to fight and conquer everything different from us or be subjected to it, whether or not there is a reason—even when there is a credible threat we are often too quick to draw the sword, instead of applying the whole power of the wit we possess (but each salts the other). In this story, it is the human man from Earth who is the alien, not the other way around. However, everyone is okay in the broad sense, including the Earth man.

The point of Earth Alien, and the two sequels Penna the Alien Earthling and Familiar Aliens, is that we, both individually and corporately, can exist and thrive in any environment in which we can survive and retain and cultivate the foundational elements of who we are. This story contains some explicit consensual sex, but no gruesome violence between people. It also has a relevant amount of "space" things pertinent to the story, including sky indications and spaceships.

Although there is only one Earth human in most of the first book, the Earth Alien himself, each character in the story is a mortal person in his or her own right. A key, though not always central, character throughout all three stories is Penna, the Earth man's daughter by his non-human wife, Jenna.

And the Earth Alien Series grows out from there.

Enjoy!
